Over a decade since the fall of the Berlin Wall, Germany’s reunified capital is a joy to discover. The fusion of the modern and lively West with the former East has produced a vibrant and cosmopolitan city. Boasting superb architecture, Berlin is a fascinating metropolis, which continues to change.

This tour enables you to see all the major sites and to witness the changes still transforming this fascinating city and with the benefit of your guide’s knowledge to bring some of the events of the past to life.

Tour Itinerary


Day 1 - You depart on a morning flight to Berlin. On arrival you will transfer by private coach to your hotel. Afternoon tour by coach of the city centre, including a visit to Bernauerstrasse to view the Wall Memorial and preserved sections of the Berlin Wall. Return to the hotel for dinner. After dinner optional introductory talk

Day 2 - Morning visits in central Berlin by coach and on foot, beginning at Potsdamer Platz and continuing via Goring’s Air Ministry buildings to Prinz-Albrechtstrasse, the former HQ of the SS and Gestapo. From here, you follow the former line of the Wall to Checkpoint Charlie and visit the nearby Haus am Checkpoint Charlie Museum. Afternoon spent on and around Unter den Linden. Return to the hotel for dinner.

Day 3 - Full day excursion to Sachenhausen Concentration Camp and the Olympic Stadium (external views), built for the 1936 games as a Nazi show piece. Continue to Wannsee Villa where the infamous conference of 1942 expounded the ‘Final Solution’. Return to the hotel for dinner.

Day 4 - Full day excursion to Potsdam with guided visits to the Cecilenhof Palace and Sanssouci Gardens. Return to the hotel for dinner. Optional evening talk on the fall of the Wall and German reunification.*

Day 5 - Visits in central Berlin using public transport or on foot, or alternatively free time for shopping and sightseeing before your return flight to the UK.

The above itinerary is flexible and can be changed to include any visits of particular interest to your group. Additional days can be added if desired.
